BEST. GIF. EVER.
With the Olympics a mere two weeks away, we at KSRC have taken it upon ourselves to take a break from NBA gossip pre-season football lamenting grasping at any bit of basketball recruiting news we can find the fast-paced, always-thrilling summer news beat to focus on the Summer Games. Each of the Olympic sports- from men’s basketball to trampoline, women’s soccer to handball, and yes, table tennis and canoeing- has been thrust upon a writer, with the mission clear: eat, sleep, breathe, and most importantly, write about your sport. You can expect at least two posts about each sport: a preview and a wrap up, with a special focus on any Kentucky connections and how Team USA is expected to fare. Also, lots of “U-S-A!” chants written in all capital, bold letters.
These posts are handily categorized under “Olympics Coverage” for your viewing convenience. In fact, a couple of writers are already on the ball (on the rings? Eh, whatever). Andrew Cassady served up some freakin’ sweet table tennis (“P-squared”) highlights that gave me the insatiable urge to immediately travel six hours to my parents’ basement in Lexington and challenge my little sister to a game. John Michael Holzapfel went a little international with the men’s soccer post about five impact players over the age of 23 (unfortunately, no Team USA in this event… BOO). And finally, Hayley Minogue delivered a brief overview of some “WTF REALLY?” Olympic sports.
And if ya don’t know, now ya know.
