Tyson Gay Misses Medal by .01

In the men’s 100m final today, Tyson Gay barely missed out on the bronze medal when fellow American Justin Gatlin out-leaned (yes, I’m making that a word) him to finish .01 seconds ahead. Gay, a Lexington native who has experienced huge international success followed by an unfortunate string of injuries, was visibly upset after the race, telling reporters that he gave it his all and he didn’t think he could have done anything more. The 100m was his only event of the Olympics, and as Gay prepares to turn 30 in a few days, it’s unclear whether this was his last Olympic Games.
